WHY DO PEOPLE PAUSE AND RETHINK ABOUT THEIR LIFE AROUND THEIR 40s?

WHY  DO  PEOPLE  PAUSE  AND  RETHINK  ABOUT  THEIR  LIFE  AROUND  THEIR  40s?

1. You are shifting from regenerative to degenerative mode.

2. This is the first time you think about digestion, heart, cancer and death.

3. This is the time where you see the similarity between your friends diminishing. Some friends have done far better than you, and they have everything you wanted, and some have nothing. You can't figure out which one is real? And where do you stand - are you successful or a loser.

4. This is when you have enough experience of a job to understand that you were fooled by your education system to believe that a good job is the real success. Everything you have achieved looks smaller in comparison to someone else.

5. Your parents are growing old and feeble. Your children are growing up and don't listen to you anymore. You have no control over them or the job.

6. This is when your lifestyle, social ambitions, children and ailing parents start pinching your earnings.

7. You realize the attraction for your partner is not exciting anymore.

8. You indulge in all kinds of fads, travel, hobbies, sports, etc. Nothing satisfies. The fleeting nature of things frustrates you more. All you wonder is 'What’s there in it for me… for my life'?

9. Slowly, you focus on yourself and ask, 'Who am I? What am I doing here? Does this job fulfill my true potential?' And then you ask the most important question, 'Am I going to live my life to fulfill someone else’s dreams or do I have my own free will to fulfill my own dreams? Am I a slave of society or am I free to live my life the way I want?’

10. One question nobody asks though and that’s why this world always remains confused - “Why am I repeating the same mistake with my own children when I know that school-college-job is not the right formula of a great, satisfying life?"
