Our journey begins in the ancient city of Ayodhya, considered by many to be the birthplace of Lord Rama, a key deity in Hindu mythology. The Ram Mandir, or Ram Temple, is believed to be a physical embodiment of this sacred lore.

The Controversial Babri Masjid

During the Mughal rule in India around the 16th century, a mosque known as the Babri Masjid was built on the same site. However, the origins of the mosque have been fraught with controversy.

Many believe that it was erected on the ruins of a Hindu temple, which was allegedly destroyed to make way for the mosque. On the other hand, some argue that the land was unused at the time of construction.

The Demolition and Communal Violence

Fast forward to the mid-20th century, and the dispute over the land's ownership had ignited, culminating in the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992 by Hindu nationalists. This event sparked widespread communal violence, further deepening the divide between the Hindu and Muslim communities.

The Landmark Judgment

In the aftermath, the case was taken to the courts where it lingered for over two decades. Finally, in November 2019, the Supreme Court of India handed down a landmark judgment. The disputed land was given to the Hindus for the construction of the Ram Mandir, while a separate 5-acre plot was allocated elsewhere in Ayodhya for the construction of a mosque.

As the date of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, January 22, approaches, discussions have begun on who will be a part of this event and who will not.

Congress has finally responded to the questions that have been asked for several days on Wednesday.

Congress has denied participating in the event, accusing the BJP of turning the Ram Mandir into a political project.

The Congress party has issued a statement saying, "Millions of Indians worship Lord Ram. Religion is a personal matter for individuals, but the BJP and RSS have turned the Ram temple in Ayodhya into a political project for years. It is clear that the inauguration of a half-built temple is being done solely for electoral gains."

The Congress has expressed its disapproval of the invitation extended to Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury by the BJP and RSS, in honor of people's faith, while accepting the Supreme Court's decision of 2019. On the other hand, the Vishva Hindu Parishad has confirmed that senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani will also be a part of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony. Earlier, there were reports that Advani would not be attending the ceremony.

Apart from the Congress, two Shankaracharyas have also declined to attend the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha program. However, the two Shankaracharyas have issued a statement saying that everyone should participate in this ceremony.

According to beliefs, Shankaracharya is the post of the highest religious guru in Hindu religion.

 In Hindu religion, Shankaracharya has been viewed with respect and faith.

 Adi Shankaracharya has also been known for his philosophical interpretation of Hinduism.

 Adi Shankaracharya had established four monasteries to propagate Hinduism. The work of these monasteries was to propagate religion. These four monasteries are:

In such a situation, when the date of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha program was decided, efforts were made to know the attitude of Shankaracharyas also.

Jyotirmath Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has said that all four Shankaracharyas of the country will not participate in the Pran Pratistha event on January 22.

 According to Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, this event is not being organized as per the scriptures.

 However, a statement has been issued by the Sringeri Math saying that the message is being posted along with the picture of Shankaracharya Bharati Teertha, due to which it is felt that the Sringeri Shankaracharya is opposing the Pran Pratishtha. But no such message has been given by Shankaracharya. This is wrong propaganda.

An appeal has been made on behalf of Sringeri Shankaracharya to participate in the Pran Pratishtha program.

 However, nothing has been clearly said in the statement about whether Shankaracharya himself will go to Ayodhya and participate or not.

राजनीतिक बहस एक तरफ, लेकिन प्रश्न उठता है कि 22 जनवरी को अयोध्या में क्या हो रहा है? कुछ लोग इसे उद्घाटन कह रहे हैं। अंग्रेजी में इसके लिए Consecration अर्थात् पवित्रीकरण कहा जा रहा है। जबकि श्रीराम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट इसे प्राण-प्रतिष्ठा कह रहा है।

पहले बाद शब्द उद्घाटन की। किसी भी मंंदिर का उद्घाटन नहीं होता। मंदिर कोई परियोजना नहीं है जिसका उद्घाटन किया जाए। यह शब्द शायद इसलिए चला क्योंकि पहले राम मंदिर का शिलान्यास किया गया था। सामान्य समझ से यह मान लिया गया कि जिसका शिलान्यास हुआ, उसका उद्घाटन भी होगा। 

Consecration भारतीय शब्द या प्रक्रिया नहीं है। यह चर्च के लिए प्रयोग में आता है। कैंब्रिज शब्दकोष के अनुसार 

the act or process of officially making something holy and able to be used for religious ceremonies:

A large congregation gathered for the consecration of the church.

the consecration of bread and wine by the priest or minister

सनातन धर्म में किसी मंदिर के पवित्रीकरण की कोई पद्धति या परंपरा नहीं है। बल्कि पूजा पद्धति के लिए स्थान का सर्वाधिक महत्व होता है। 

कायदे से देखा जाए तो श्रीराम जन्मस्थान तो हजारों वर्षों से पवित्र है क्योंकि यहां प्रभु श्रीराम का जन्म हुआ था। यहां बने मंदिर को तोड़ने या अपवित्र करने से स्थान की पवित्रता भंग नहीं होती। 

किसी भी मंदिर में मूर्ति की स्थापना के बाद उसकी प्राण प्रतिष्ठा की जाती है। अर्थात् मूर्ति रूपी देवता में प्राण स्थापित किए जाते हैं ताकि श्रद्धालु उनमें अपने देवता का जीवंत स्वरूप प्रत्यक्ष रूप से महसूस कर सकें। प्राण प्रतिष्ठा के बाद ही विधि-विधान से किसी मंदिर में मूर्ति की पूजा-अर्चना शुरू हो सकती है। यही कारण है कि मूर्तिकार के यहां रखी मूर्ति की पूजा नहीं होती बल्कि मंदिर में प्राण प्रतिष्ठा के बाद स्थापित मूर्ति की पूजा की जाती है। 

रही बात निर्माणाधीन मंदिर की। छह दिसंबर 1992 को यहां अस्थायी मंदिर ही बनाया गया था जिसमें वर्षों तक राम लला की पूजा होती रही। लिहाजा अभी उसी मंदिर को भव्य रूप दिया जा रहा है और इस तरह निर्माणाधीन मंदिर में प्राण प्रतिष्ठा का कार्यक्रम हो रहा है।
